Mineral Makeup For Oily Skin

Well I have some experience in this area since I have some areas of my face that tend to be oily.  Can mineral makeup work for oily skin?  Why, yes it can!  Personally, I feel that a good quality mineral makeup actually does us oily girly sisters a benefit by almost acting as a rag to sop up the oil that gets produced during the day.  When I was using a liquid foundation, I felt like it was liquid swimming around on top of my oily skin.  By the end of the day, my face felt gross and generally ended up on somebody’s shoulder as I hugged them, or on the face of my cell phone or my hands (I’m a self-face toucher).  Does this sound familiar to you?  When I finally made the switch, those problems were greatly minimized!  Then when I added in a primer and setting powder, things became much more manageable.  If you read the part about makeup getting everywhere and were nodding your head in agreement, first welcome to the shiny sister club!  We girls need to stick together and share our tips!  Next, if you’re looking for a better option in makeup, perhaps give mineral makeup a shot.  You may end up pleasantly surprised!

If your skin tends to be oily all over, be on the look out not only for primers designed specifically for oily skin, but also a mattifying foundation.  These are formulated to control shine and work better with oily skin, providing even better staying power throughout the day.  Tip – if you have any dry areas on your face, you may want to ask a brand expert if the mattifying foundation will effect those parts of your face.

One last word for the shiny sisters in the house.  If you’re not already hooked up with a primer or setting powder, you may want to invest a bit of that next paycheck in either or preferably both.  The primer will help ‘sticky finger’ your foundation to your face, helping deter natural oils from sliding it off.  Next the setting powder will provide additional protection in not only absorbing natural oils but also keeping your makeup in place.  Again, my biggest tip is to use the same makeup brand for your primer, foundation and setting powder if you can, seeing as they are designed to best work together.
